Dr. Finkel is an Associate Professor at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, a community provider and an investigator in HIV treatment and prevention studies at the NIH sponsored Clinical Trials Unit. She also serves as the ID Fellowship Program Director. Her main clinical practice site is the Infectious Disease Practice, where she treats persons living with HIV (PLWH) and persons not living with HIV who are at increased risk, as well as sees individuals with general Infectious Disease disorders. Her practice integrates gender affirming medical care into the HIV care and prevention program. She is also fortunate to serve as the Clinical Director of the Transgender Health Care Program at NJCRI, a comprehensive community based organization. Throughout her career, she has coordinated community care for diverse populations at risk, including immigration detainees, LGBQT marginally housed youth, and persons who use drugs (PWUD) for almost two decades. Currently, she is focusing on expanding access in the community to PrEP and gender affirming care and on improving retention in care for PLWH who use drugs by providing access to medication assisted addiction care services in our program. She is also privileged to be mentoring students and community providers who are starting their own programs.
Erika Ferradino –
Erika is a passionate, Certified Addiction Registered Nurse dedicated to advancing patient care through research and evidence-based practices. In addition to Addiction medicine, Erika is committed to primary care, preventative health, and chronic disease management, ensuring holistic patient support. She is a strong advocate for mental health and trauma-informed care, creating safe spaces for individuals to heal. Erika also champions women’s health and reproductive rights, promoting sexual health and positivity, including gender-affirming hormone therapy.
